Classic Tuesday Night Tournament 

Time Controls: G/45 +3 seconds increment

Entry Fee:  $20

Prizes: 1st Overall 50% of Entry Fees; 1st Under 1600 player wins 30% of Entry Fees.

Format: 2 rounds will be held on each of the following consecutive Tuesdays starting at 7:00 PM each day for the 1st game and 8:45 PM for the second game.  Tournaments last for one month each.

Ratings: Dual rated i.e. standard and quick ratings will be affected.

Please show up before the start time so we can start the rounds on time!

Rounds: Round 1 starts at 11:00 a.m.  Lunch will begin as your second round finishes and last until 1:30 p.m. which is the start of round 3. 

Entry Fee: $15. 

Prizes: 1st Place overall will receive 50 percent of the entry fees.  Under 1600 rated highest scoring player will receive a prize of 30 percent of the entry fees.  Prize category based on USCF quick rating.

The number of rounds will be determined by the number of players. Winner receives 50% of entry fees.

Group Lesson: Intro to Tactics and League Play

Each session is 1 hour of instruction followed by a round of tournament play. The league players will meet once per week for the entire month. At the end of the league, players will be scored based on their performance and awarded medals.

Classes are available weekly on:

Wednesday 4:00 - 5:00 PM (Intro to Tactics)

5:00 - 6:00 PM (League Play- Open to all students that have paid for classes)

The entry fee for Intro to Tactics/League Play is $65 for members and $85 for non-members for the entire month. 

The goal of this class is to prepare each student for the Advanced Lessons by teaching students chess etiquette, check mate patterns, core opening positions, and to practice real USCF tournament rules in a casual and friendly environment.

Please make sure that you or your child is familiar with Chess Notation, 100% confident with piece movement, and opening principles. If you are not sure you have this mastered, you can attend our Chess 101 part 1 and part 2 lessons on Mondays and Tuesdays that teach these principles!

Chess 101

This class develops young students to become better overall players and is intended to prepare them for growth and tournament play. Curriculum covers a wide variety of tools and topics, covering everything from openings and endgames to psychology and tactics.

Classes are every Tuesday and Wednesday. Class One starts at 1:30 p.m. and ends at 3:30 p.m. Class Two starts at 4:00 p.m. and ends at 6:00 p.m. Calendar shows only a 1:30 p.m. start time due to space constraints, both classes held on each day.

Registration is $65 for one student or $100 for two siblings per month. Attend as many classes as you like during the month!

4 Rounds of rated G/30 games vs. a rival junior club from the San Diego area.  It will consist of 3 quads and be played for a trophy. Our roster has been set and the match will begin at 1pm.  All participants will be age 12 or under. Event will be continued every 3 months to renew the friendly competition.

March of the Queens

United States Chess Federation rated event.  Children's scholactic chess tournament.  Age 14 and under.  Time controls are 15 minutes for each side.  4 rounds.  Prizes!!!  1st place receives 20 dollars, 10 dollars for 2nd, and 5 dollars for 3rd.  Players qualify for season finals each 3 months by placing 1st or 2nd place in a regular event or scoring 5 points total throughout the regular season. Entry Fee is 10 dollars.  Registration begins at 3 p.m.  Round 1 begins at 3:30 p.m.

Come to the Temecula Chess Club and learn how to play chess!  We are open for free casual play to the public on every Monday from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. And, starting in July this will be on Thursdays too.

Our chess coaches will teach you how to move the pieces and the basic rules of chess.  This free opportunity will prepare the student to play a game of chess and qualify them to further their chess instruction in our monthly lessons!  It's also a great way to meet other players in the area.  Come join the fun!
